Pain and tension are
very much associated. When a muscle is in pain from an injury, it tends
to tighten that muscle. This in turn increases pain and so a pain cycle
is established. Hypnosis can create relaxation and reduce pain and so
breaks this pain cycle.
When we ease and relax
the injured muscle, the pain subsides. The relaxed muscle is able to
heal more rapidly than a muscle under tension. This can quite literally
knock a day or two off your recovery time and allow you to resume
training much quicker and ultimately of course competition.
